In today’s session, we will discuss whether or not we should feel the need to prove ourselves to others, and where that feeling comes from. Looking at Matthew 6:1-4, where Jesus taught about giving to the needy in secret, we will focus in on how our actions are known and unmasked before God, and that we are to live for His glory, not for human praise. This passage tells us that God sees our hearts and intentions, and it is His approval that truly matters. We explore the fact that our worth is given by God only and is not determined by others’ opinions or validations. God sees us, knows us, and values us deeply. When we focus on seeking His approval rather than trying to prove ourselves to others, we can live more authentically. This shift in perspective helps us to let go of the pressure to perform for others and instead rest in the assurance of God’s love and acceptance.
